New Call for Papers: submissions close on 31 May 2026 for the IPSA Comparative Judicial Studies Research Committee’s workshop on Court Roles in the Current Authoritarian Moment

The Comparative Constitutional Studies journal has launched a special Call for Papers to be submitted for its next issue, volume 5.1 (2027).

The deadline for submissions is 1 September 2026.

The European Yearbook of Constitutional Law (EYCL) invites submissions for its ninth volume (2027), which will focus on the theme “Reimagining Constitutional Identity in Europe”.

Prospective contributors are invited to submit abstracts of 350–500 words, outlining their proposed paper.

Deadline for abstract submissions: 1 June 2026

Applications are now open for the Federal Scholar in Residence Programme 2027, organised by the Eurac Research Institute for Comparative Federalism (Bolzano/Bozen, Italy).

This programme offers scholars the opportunity to spend up to three weeks in residence at Eurac Research, in the heart of the Alps, engaging with an international community of experts working on comparative federalism and related fields.

Applications must be submitted by 1 July 2026.

Applications are now open for the Jean Monnet Intensive Summer School 2026 on Participation, Lobbying and Transparency in the EU Institutions (PLAT-EU), organised by the University of Rome Unitelma Sapienza.

The Summer School will take place in person in Rome from 20 to 24 July 2026.

The Global Centre for Democratic Constitutionalism (GCDC) at UCL invites expressions of interest from scholars proposing country case studies on the problem of authoritarian holdover appointments during processes of democratic or constitutional recovery.

Constitutional Studies is an international open access, double-blind peer reviewed academic journal published twice annually by the Comparative Constitutions Project and the International Association of Constitutional Law.

This year, we invite scholars from the U.S. and abroad to examine how courts function within political systems and how they respond to political pressures and shape broader political development, particularly during pivotal moments. We welcome abstracts from emerging scholars, including graduate students, across all areas and methodological approaches of public law.
