Announcement: The Legitimacy of Legal Decisions Adopted under Radical Uncertainties

The University of Lille will host the international conference “The Legitimacy of Legal Decisions Adopted under Radical Uncertainties” on 21–22 May 2026. Organised under the auspices of the Cross-Disciplinary Project DePeru, the conference will bring together researchers from across Europe to reflect on the legitimacy of legal decision-making in contexts marked by profound uncertainty, including democratic, security, and environmental crises.

The conference adopts a cross-cutting and transdisciplinary approach, with discussions spanning several fields of legal research. A dedicated panel session will also focus specifically on constitutional law.

The event is supported by a scientific committee comprising Professor Elsa Bernard (CRDP-ERDP, University of Lille), Professor Martin Belov (St. Clement of Ohrid University, Bulgaria), and Magali Dreyfus, Research Director at the CNRS (CERAPS, University of Lille).

All sessions will be held in English.
