2019 Global Youth Intensive Program

The Korean Association of the International Association of Constitutional Law (IACL-AIDC) is pleased to invite applications to participate in its 2019 Global Youth Intensive Program (GYIP) running 24 - 28 June 2019.

The Program, first run in 2018 as part of the IACL-AIDC’s 10th World Congress, is aimed at supporting leading young scholars from diverse countries.

Eligibility

The program is open to early career constitutional law scholars (including graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and professors) and practitioners who work in constitutional adjudication institutions (e.g. constitutional courts and equivalent institutions).

How to apply

Email the following documents to 2019gyip@gmail.com:

(a)    A completed application form.

(b)    A letter of recommendation from either a senior Professor or Head of department or Dean of the faculty of the university or institution that the applicant belongs.

(c)     An outline (maximum 300 words) for a presentation in the form of a ‘country report’ on the constitutional system and contemporary constitutional issues of the scholar’s country of origin. *Successful applicants will be required to submit a presentation paper (minimum 2000 words) by 15 June 2019.

Financial Support

Two forms of financial support are available for selected applicants:

1.       Accommodation and meals for about a week (during the program) together with financial support for a wide range of other expenses up to 1,200 US Dollar (to cover basic airfare).

2.       Accommodation and meals for about a week (during the program) together with financial support for a wide range of other expenses up to 600 US Dollar (to cover part of the cost of basic airfare).

*The Program registration fee will be waived for all participants.

*Early announcement of successful applicants (for those that applied before the original deadline of 2 May 2019): 6 May 2019 (KST). In this early announcement stage, half the positions will be allocated.
