CALL FOR INPUT: UN Special Rapporteur Seeks Support from Constitutional and Human Rights Law Experts to Map Poverty-Related Anti-Discrimination Laws

The UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, Olivier De Schutter, is asking constitutional and human rights law experts to fill out a short questionnaire on the state of legislation banning discrimination on grounds of socioeconomic status in their respective countries.

The information will be transformed into an interactive map, hosted on srpoverty.org: the first such tool to provide a clear and comparative visual of how countries are/are not protecting people in poverty from discrimination.

The exercise follows on from the Special Rapporteur’s report on “Banning discrimination on grounds of socioeconomic status”, presented to the UN General Assembly in October 2022, and will play a vital role in his continued campaign for the effective protection of people in poverty against discrimination.

Share your input via Google Forms here (or contact info@srpoverty.org to request the questionnaire in Word format)
