CfP: The 9th Asian Constitutional Law Forum
/The Institutum Iurisprudentiae, Academia Sinica (IIAS) is honoured to be hosting the 9th Asian Constitutional Law Forum. Due to the ongoing development of the pandemic, the dates of the Forum have been changed from Dec 3-4, 2021 to May 13-14, 2022. It will be held at the IIAS in Taipei, Taiwan.
The general theme is “Asian Constitutionalism in Troubled Times”, which encompasses the following sub-themes;
1. Human Rights Development in Asia
2. Emergency Power in Asia
3. Technology and Constitutional Development in Asia
4. Constitutional Change and Constitutional Stability in Asia
5. Constitutional Convergence in Asia
6. Hybrid Constitutionalism in Asia
7. Democratic Governance in the State of Emergency
Please note that abstracts that relate to constitutionalism in Asia that do not fall directly within the sub-themes are still welcome.
Prospective participants may submit either an individual paper abstract or a panel proposal, the latter of which is particularly encouraged. A panel proposal is a proposal to form a panel in which three to four papers would be presented. A panel proposal should include a) a panel title, b) a short explanation of the theme of the panel, c) the titles and abstracts of the papers to be presented. A panel should have three to four speakers each presenting a paper, and one chair who would also serve as discussant.
The abstract should be no more than 250 words. Up to two paper abstracts may be submitted by each participant. The conference committee will consider the abstracts, and the authors of approved abstracts will be notified as scheduled.

Deadline: Abstracts are to be submitted by November 1st, 2021.
Those potential participants who submitted their paper or panel abstracts by the original deadline, July 20th, 2021, will receive notification letters in early August. Those who submitted after July 20th, 2021 will receive notification letters in November.
Participants at the Forum will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses. Conference registration fee can be waived for participants presenting papers at the Forum. Information about accommodation and transportation will be provided after notification of acceptance.
