Since 1981, the IACL has been the leading international association of constitutional scholars. The IACL Freedom of Speech Research Group was formed in 2018 at the IACL's Constitutional Law World Congress in Seoul. Its objective is to connect free speech scholars from around the world. Jimmy Chia-Shin Hsu of Academia Sinica (chhsu73@gate.sinica.edu.tw) and Jurij Toplak of University of Maribor (jurij.toplak@almamater.si) serve as co-chairs. The 2020 meeting in Ljubljana will be the inaugural meeting of the research group and we expect about 40 leading scholars from all continents.
